Our New Shed/Wilson's New Kennel!

Not sure why that board is in there, but if you look closely you can see Wilson's paw prints in the concrete. :)

Tim and Justin (Tim's brother) got the shed finished this weekend! We're excited, it really turned out nice! Wilson even got an outdoor kennel, which has been great for those mild days. And, we also put in a little patio-area to put our grill on. This has been nice because it gives us more room on our deck. We're finally getting our outdoor projects finished before it gets too cold!

Fall!

Today was my day off from work so I decided to get out some of the fall decorations! So, it's slowly beginning to look a little more like fall around our house!
Aren't the gourds/pumpkins the neatest?! My dad actually gave me those this past weekend, he grew them on the farm! Pretty cool. :)

Fresh Peach Pie

Today I made a yummy peach pie! This recipe is an oldie but a goodie. It was actually my mom's grandma's recipe! If you like peaches, you must make this tasty treat. :)

Peach Pie

Pie crust - unbaked

1 c. Sugar

2 T. Flour

1 c. half and half

1 T. Vanilla

Stir together the above ingredients.

Add 4-5 fresh peaches (take off skin) to the liquid mixture. Pour into unbaked crust. Bake at 375 degrees (i turn down heat to 350 after 1/2 hr or so). Bake 1 hour. Enjoy!

Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

Well, it's time! Showhouse is ready to open!! A little bittersweet for me actually. I am excited it's now open for people to see and it looks fantastic, but at the same time a little sad that this awesome experience is over (for this year anyway).
The showhouse has been getting a lot of news coverage so we're hoping for another good turnout this year. Last night was the designers gala which was a formal event. There was a champagne toast, ribbon cutting, etc. Even the mayor of Omaha was in attendance. It was an exciting experience for me! It made me so excited to be an interior designer and so thankful that I really LOVE what I do! To know what this house looked like when we started and then to see the finished product is very rewarding.
If you're interested in touring the mansion it will be open September 18-October 4. The hours it will be open are M-Sat 11-7, Sunday 11-5. Tickets are available at any Omaha Hy-Vee for $12.50/pc. The address of the mansion is: 500 So. 38th Street. It's just south of 38th & Dodge.
Also, while I am giving a 'plug,' if you're in town and feel the need to tour more homes (haha), Street of Dreams is also going on right now! I haven't been (yet) but hear it's great this year! It's off 192nd & Dodge and tickets are also available at HyVee.
Okay, that's all for now I'm sure you're tired of hearing me ramble on! Have a nice weekend everyone! Contact me if you have any ?'s about showhouse. :)

Colorado Getaway!

Our week-long Colorado vacation was so great! We had a blast and did so many things! We hiked, biked, shopped, went to Vail Farmer's Market, the guys went fly fishing 2 days, took a drive to Aspen/Continental Divide, and my favorite... zip lined through the mountains over a canyon! It was so much fun and my parents time share was awesome! It's in a secluded resort area in the mountains of Beaver Creek, beautiful setting. Here are some pics from our trip, Enjoy!
