Chicago!

This weekend I flew to Chicago for a 3-day weekend to visit my best friend Liz! We caught up on some much-needed time together! It was so great! We ate lots of yummy food, saw a movie, and of course did a lot of shopping. Although the weather was not very cooperative, we made the most of it and had an awesome weekend! I am so thankful for such a wonderful life-long friend.

I LOVE these little socks... I wear them all the time with my flats! I think I might have Liz hooked now too...
Thanks for the wonderful weekend, Liz!

Weekend Getaway To CO SPRINGS!

Tim and I hit the road this weekend for a weekend trip before he begins to get really busy with his job. We had a great time!!!

In the worst way Wilson wanted to go along with us! But, he stayed at the cabin w/my family and had lots of fun playing with his best friend Max!
The view from our hotel room! SO beautiful... golf course and the mountains, doesn't get much better!
Tim made dinner reservations for us at the historic Briarhurst Manor. It was so cool, Tim discovered the "old home turned restaurant" on the tv show Ghost Hunters. It's supposedly "haunted." However, there weren't any ghost sightings for us. ;)
Saturday morning we checked out Fort Carson.
It was a very nice Army Base at the foot of the mountains. It was a large base, and most of the buildings were newly constructed, like this one...
A view of the mountains from Ft Carson.
Then, we went to Colorado City! Such a cute, quaint little town with a neat downtown.

We had a yummy lunch at this cute little cafe in downtown Colorado City.
From there, we headed up the mountain to Pikes Peak (the tallest mountain in CO)!!
On our way up the mountain we saw big foot! ;)

Can you see the big horn sheep??
Yes, that's snow (in Spetember)! At the base of the mountain it was 75 degrees, but at the top it was a different story, 42 degrees!!!!

What a great weekend in CO!

Colorado Trip!

As you'll see, there was quite a bit more play than work involved on this "business trip" of Tim's!
As we were coming into Denver, Tim asked me to look up the Denver Nuggets schedule on my phone... much to our surprise they just happened to be playing Tim's ALL TIME FAVORITE NBA team - THE LAKERS!!! To make a very long story short, we luckily scalped tickets in front of the Pepsi Center right before game time! We even got to meet up with my cousin Tim and his wife Laura before the game for dinner (they're season ticket holders and went as well)! It was the hi-light of the trip! We had a GREAT time! A first-time NBA game experience for both of us!

OUR TICKETS!!!! yyyyaaaaaaa!!

Did I mention we were in the 10th row!!??! AWESOME seats!

Kobe Bryant (Tim's fave player) unfortunately sat out this game but we still had fun!

Tim is HOME!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!!!!!

Well, just in case you can't tell from the title of my post - I am ECSTATIC TIM IS HOME! It's so great to finally have him home - life is finally beginning to feel 'normal' again! :)
I flew to St Louis on Thursday. Tim picked me up at the airport and from there we made the 2 hour trek to Ft Leonard Wood! I was actually in the car longer than I was in the plane, lol!! :) But it was so neat to see where Tim had been spending his last 4 months! The base was HUGE. I heard that at some point in their military career, almost every soldier will pass through Ft Leonard Wood. FT LW is where all Military Police are trained (regardless of their branch of service). Okay, I think you get my point - it's huge. :)
On Friday Tim graduated from Nuclear/Biological/Chemical Training. Sounds complicated, I know! :) In a nutshell... he's now a chemical officer. After his graduation we headed to Osage Beach! (Lake of the Ozarks). WOW, it was beautiful! I was super impressed! And we even managed to get a little shopping in at their outlet mall. It was 72 degrees at Osage Beach, and who would've ever known that a few hours up the road, we'd be driving 45 mph on the interstate in heavy snow?!?! Oh well, we are now home safe and sound!
This week Tim starts a job in Omaha with the Army. Enjoy the pictures!
Tim receiving his certificate! Yaaaay!

Their class - 47 graduates (from all over the US)

The youngest member of the class cutting the cake with the General!
Can you believe that sword?!?

It was by far the most action-packed cake cutting I've ever seen! ;)

We took this one for a cruise around Fort Leonard Wood.

The yummy restaurant at Lake of the Ozarks where we had lunch!
It overlooked the lake, beautiful!!

There were even people boating/jetskiing!!!
