Weekend Getaway To CO SPRINGS!

Tim and I hit the road this weekend for a weekend trip before he begins to get really busy with his job. We had a great time!!!

In the worst way Wilson wanted to go along with us! But, he stayed at the cabin w/my family and had lots of fun playing with his best friend Max!
The view from our hotel room! SO beautiful... golf course and the mountains, doesn't get much better!
Tim made dinner reservations for us at the historic Briarhurst Manor. It was so cool, Tim discovered the "old home turned restaurant" on the tv show Ghost Hunters. It's supposedly "haunted." However, there weren't any ghost sightings for us. ;)
Saturday morning we checked out Fort Carson.
It was a very nice Army Base at the foot of the mountains. It was a large base, and most of the buildings were newly constructed, like this one...
A view of the mountains from Ft Carson.
Then, we went to Colorado City! Such a cute, quaint little town with a neat downtown.

We had a yummy lunch at this cute little cafe in downtown Colorado City.
From there, we headed up the mountain to Pikes Peak (the tallest mountain in CO)!!
On our way up the mountain we saw big foot! ;)

Can you see the big horn sheep??
Yes, that's snow (in Spetember)! At the base of the mountain it was 75 degrees, but at the top it was a different story, 42 degrees!!!!

What a great weekend in CO!

Our Guest Bath

Yes, I'm that girl... when it comes to our house, I'm the one that doesn't settle for something unless I'm absolutely in love with it. And finally, after 3 years I found the perfect piece for our guest bathroom. Yes!!!! It was an exciting day at the Wobig House! :)

House LOVE!

I follow a lot of blogs, it's a hobby of mine I guess you could say:) Although I wish I could take credit for some of the great ideas I post on my own blog, most of what I come up with I've seen on a blog I most likely follow! As you probably already know, I LOVE to share the things I LOVE. Well, I've fallen in LOVE with a fellow bloggers kitchen/dining room... check out how fabulous it is! This is pretty close to dream home status for me:)

Wow, Wow, Wow!
I'm not a fan of the kitchen table chairs, I think they're a little too modern for the space. But everything else I love!
Great kitchen!
love

I think I could easily make this home mine:)

Shopping Trip!

Here's just a little sneak peek into my shopping trip w/Jim today for Prestige Family Chiropractic! We had an awesome time, and found some great things! I can't wait to see it all put together in his office!
Some fun pieces of art we found for the bathrooms (Women's Restroom on the left, Men's on the right)
Trees, Trees, Trees! They make GREAT fillers, these will be going in corners to fill up "dead space."
Check back soon to see it all pulled together at Prestige Family Chiropractic!

Polka Dot Pumpkins!

You better believe that I'm all over this idea! Seriously, how cute are they?!

So how do they do it, you ask? Well, easy...
Dust off the old drill and perforate your way to some stylish pumpkins! First, you'll need to hallow out the pumpkin from the bottom, enough to accommodate a single votive candle, which will provide just enough light to create a soft glow. Next, use a drill with a 3/8“ bit and drill holes in rows going all around the pumpkin. Ta-da! You now have the cutest pumpkins in 5 counties. ;)

Our front door step will definitely be decked out in these this Halloween!

Remembering 9/11

Today, I remember those who lost their lives, those who rushed in to help, and those forever affected by that horrible day. My heart is heavy tonight as I think of all of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. I will never forget 9/11 and I continue to pray for the families that will forever be changed by the catastrophic event.
Some days I forget what I have; today I have been reminded. I am so thankful for loving family and friends, an education, roof over my head, and a job to go to each day! :)

Prestige Family Chiropractic

Although we still have a little ways to go, Jim is getting closer to opening Prestige Family Chiropractic in Lincoln! He's shooting for an opening date of September 22nd! SO EXCITING! I visited today to see what final touches we need before our fun and FINAL buying trip in Omaha next week! :)

We've come a LONG way from when we first started!

 Reception Area

The wall-mounted fountain! Turned out GREAT!

The kids play area (not quite complete, but you get the idea)  :)
The reception area, again not complete but we're getting there!
I like this picture because you can see a lot of the FUN paint colors we used! The organge-ish copper color, the blue, brown and the neutral tan! :) We also used some dark browns and a khaki green! I had a blast choosing all of the fun paint colors for this project!! :)
Some of the track lighting! Turned out neat!

Jim's office, still a work in progress... LOVE this color!
Exam Room
Exam Room #2, still waiting for a table...
I'll post more pictures as we continue to make progress!!! :)

A Little Country Star!

I saw this video today, and it cracked me up!! (especially his first song).

Enjoy! :)

Our Husker Hound!

Wilson was sporting his husker gear for the season opener! :)

Hanging On To The Last Moments Of Summer

On this Labor Day I will be clinging to the final moments of Summer. Despite seeing Fall all around me, in preparations for the start of the season on blogs and in stores displaying holiday decor and fall clothing, I am so not ready. Summer is always such a hard season to see pass by!

Hope you’re having a restful and relaxing Labor Day! Here’s to a full Monday of catching up on the to-do list, BBQing in the sand somewhere or just sleeping in a bit later than usual…

Hope you had a wonderful Holiday!
