The Ice Bottle Cooler!
For all of you who love to entertain for the holidays, this is the coolest idea!
This icey bottle cooler is a stylish way to present vodka or white wine on the bar while keeping it cold at the same time. It's a simple project but you need to give yourself a couple of days to freeze the layers. This works well for vodka because it can go in the freezer without turning solid, and is best served very cold anyway. Here's how it works...What you'll need:
• A 3-liter empty soda container that you will cut the top off of
•distilled water for more clarity in your end result
•fruit such as lemons, limes, star fruit, or cranberries
•duct tape - only in case your bottle floats up in the water
Place the bottle of vodka inside the 3-liter container and fill with an inch or two of the distilled water - freeze until solid.
When the base is frozen you can begin adding slice fruit or berries around the bottle and fill with more water to just cover the fruit layer - freeze until solid.
Once the first fruit layer is frozen you can add your next layer in the same manner, filling with distilled water enough to cover the fruit. This layer should take you to the top of the vodka bottle - freeze until solid.
Once the cooler is frozen, take it out of the freezer so it can thaw slightly - enough to work the 3-liter container off of the ice (about 30 minutes). You may still need to dip in luke warm water to help ease it off. Once you have the ice cooler out of the container store it in the freezer until ready to set on your bar.
Important Tips:
When setting the ice cooler out on your bar, set it in a shallow dish or tray that is lined with a small towel. This will prevent the icey base from slipping around on the dish, as well as help contain the melting ice. Under normal home temperatures this should last a few hours.
If you would like to use the ice cooler for white wine or other cold drink, just insert an empty bottle (wine bottle or other decorative bottle) into the 3-liter container and follow the same steps. You can add your beverage to the empty bottle inside (using a funnel) after the cooler is frozen.

Ready For Christmas!
We are ready for Christmas at the Wobig's! Well, almost ready... we're without one really important piece to our little puzzle, but it's okay because he'll be home later this week!!!!! Yaaaaay!
The tree is up!
And the presents are wrapped!
Even Wilson managed to sneak a little piece of the wrapping fun!
Typically this would NOT be okay...
but how can you get mad at that face?!
Happy Holidays from the Wobig's!

Have You Heard?!
It's "all the rage" in Omaha right now... a new store at One Pacific Place called "Nothing Bundt Cakes!" They are super cute, AND yummy, AND moist little cakes!
Some of our favorite neighbors got some delivered to their doorsteps today!!

And if you're in the area, you can drop into their shop and get a little "bundtlet" (cute, huh?!). They're a small serving of cake with heavenly cream cheese frosting drizzled on top!
You must try the Red Velvet... delish!

Today was a lot like any other day at the Wobig house, pretty uneventful. So when I found out the family of 3 boys that I used to babysit for in college was going to be in town I definitely wanted to meet up with them. So off to their hockey game I went. And WOW, I haven't really started to feel old until today when I saw how much these "little" boys had grown! It was great to see them, they're such a neat family!
When leaving their hockey game, I noticed I had missed a call from ADT (our security alarm company). I called them and our burglar alarm had gone off. Supposedly there was motion inside our house (above Wilson's height) which triggered the alarm. So, they dispatched the police (protocol) and luckily there was no sign of break-in. But just to help ease my mind, a neighbor went through our house with me just to be sure there weren't any "bad guys" hiding out! :) Luckily, we didn't find anything but as we were standing in the kitchen chatting, out of the corner of his eye he noticed a cluster of balloons (balloons from Tim's party that are STILL going strong and I can't bring myself to throw them away). Of course this cluster of balloons just happened to be hanging out right next to our motion sensor!!! Needless to say the balloons are now in the office and I will be able to sleep tonight. Lesson learned. :)
Frosty!
Even though Halloween and Thanksgiving are done and over and it’s technically Christmas season now,
check out this clever idea!

Dress up store-bought or homemade cupcakes as cute snowmen. Dip frosted cupcakes in sparkling sugar. Use M&M’s for eyes, candy orange slice halves for noses, gumdrops and licorice for earmuffs and pink sprinkles for cheeks. What a sweet way to kick off the holiday!
