Lincoln Parade of Homes

As many of you know, I have been working with a homebuilder in Lincoln on interior and exterior selections for two parade homes. The time has come, they open this weekend!! Yaaaa! SO exciting! The parade hasn't yet opened and they've already had an offer on one of the homes! I stopped by them today, and they're coming along nicely. They will be open to the public, starting this weekend. I watched the live coverage of President Obama's remarks about Osama Bin Laden's death last night.

Then I opened Facebook - Praise for our Military troops stationed around the world, instantly I got goosebumps...

"Late breaking news....they just announced that U.S. forces have killed Osama Bin Laden!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Great job United States military!!!"

"USA!!!"

"God bless the USA!!!! God bless our troops!!!"

I also read Stories of Celebration.

And Solemn Remembrance for the events of 9/11 - the fallen and their families.

One of the first thoughts that crossed my mind were of concern for my husband and his soldiers, as they are still there preparing for the next days activities.

Yes - Justice has been done.

But is it over yet?
Please keep praying for our servicemen and women, who will undoubtedly feel the effects of this all over the world.

New Leather Handbag!

I'm learning quickly that there are some great perks that come along with this job! We have a massage therapist that visits once/week, an amazing on-site gym, lunch vendors that come to us everyday (Famous Daves, Valentino's, Mr Goodcents), and the sales rep's love us!!

Today Moore and Giles (one of our high-end leather vendors) stopped by and gave me a new leather handbag!! Simply for just being a new designer, and I suppose he wants to me to use his leather in the jets I'm designing! ;)  The great thing is that there is a rewards program, so the more leather I use, the more handbags I get!! I'm thinking I could get used to this! :) They have some great handbags and travel accessories! Check out their website

My Job!

I really have been wanting to post a little update about my job, and give some insight of what I've been doing so far! First, I LOVE IT!! I think I have the best job in the world, seriously:)  We're very, very busy. It's a little crazy, but that's a good thing.

As you know from a previous post, we are designing a plane for The Walton's (the Wal Mart empire). We had a meeting with them on-sight. Here's a little taste of how it went/what we do...

First, there's a conference call, so that we can get an idea of what they like (color/design wise). From that conversation, we pull a bunch of things we think would look nice in their jet.

We set up a bunch of samples in our conference room for them to browse through in our first meeting...

We have some amazing fabrics!

 We also put together some of our own ideas for color schemes that we think would look nice in their jet...

The carpet we use is 100% wool (and sometimes silk), so that it can meet burn tests (for fire). It costs around $400+/sq yard. Crazy stuff.

During the meeting we work with them to make their final selections. Sometimes what we think they might like and what they actually like are totally different. Here's the color board we sent off to them this week with the options they liked most!

And finally, although I don't spend a lot of time here (besides computer drawings), here is my desk!

Cool Stuff Here... Ya Ready?!?

SO, Duncan is building a huge new hangar. It's a 10.5 million dollar project! We're doing this so that we can service even larger jets! AND, guess who they asked to do the interior design on the new facility... MEEE!!!!!! Can you believe it?!?! I am so excited! :) I have a meeting with the Architect tomorrow morning at 9! eeeekkkkkkk!!!! Here's an article on it if you want to read more

Dear Spring, we really love you.

I LOVE Spring. Everything about it makes my heart happy........the fun/cheery colors, new wardrobes, ice cream from Dairy Chef, blooming flowers, green grass, walks/runs with Wilson, ice melting on the lake, color on my toes, flip flops...the list goes on and on...
