Sharing Some Inspiration...

As many of you know, Interior Design is not only my profession, but also my passion. I consider myself blessed to be in a profession that I love! :)
I have files and files of "inspiration." From bright, cheery kids rooms to country cabins with sheepskin rugs on the floor!
I've decided to start sharing a little bit of what I love with you. Hoping that it brightens your day as much as it does mine.
I thought a good place to start would be... "spaces you'll want to lounge in..."
This space makes a statement!

I LOVE that ottoman...

Tim is HOME!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!!!!!

Well, just in case you can't tell from the title of my post - I am ECSTATIC TIM IS HOME! It's so great to finally have him home - life is finally beginning to feel 'normal' again! :)
I flew to St Louis on Thursday. Tim picked me up at the airport and from there we made the 2 hour trek to Ft Leonard Wood! I was actually in the car longer than I was in the plane, lol!! :) But it was so neat to see where Tim had been spending his last 4 months! The base was HUGE. I heard that at some point in their military career, almost every soldier will pass through Ft Leonard Wood. FT LW is where all Military Police are trained (regardless of their branch of service). Okay, I think you get my point - it's huge. :)
On Friday Tim graduated from Nuclear/Biological/Chemical Training. Sounds complicated, I know! :) In a nutshell... he's now a chemical officer. After his graduation we headed to Osage Beach! (Lake of the Ozarks). WOW, it was beautiful! I was super impressed! And we even managed to get a little shopping in at their outlet mall. It was 72 degrees at Osage Beach, and who would've ever known that a few hours up the road, we'd be driving 45 mph on the interstate in heavy snow?!?! Oh well, we are now home safe and sound!
This week Tim starts a job in Omaha with the Army. Enjoy the pictures!
Tim receiving his certificate! Yaaaay!

Tim's friend Luke (also from Omaha)

Their class - 47 graduates (from all over the US)

The youngest member of the class cutting the cake with the General!
Can you believe that sword?!?

It was by far the most action-packed cake cutting I've ever seen! ;)

Family Ski Trip 2010!

The spring skiing in CO was great again this year! We skied Copper Mountain the first day and the conditions were so good that we decided to ski Copper again the second day! Not only did we ski 2 days, but ate lots of great food, shopped, and Jon and Dad rented snowmobiles!
I know one thing for sure - that Colorado is such a great place! It's awesome in the summertime for hiking and biking and the skiing is great during the winter months! AND, the sun is always shining there! :) We had a great trip!

Poor Wilson...

look at that face - he looks SO SAD!
Part of Wilson's daily morning routine involves running, sniffing, playing and chasing bunny rabbits in the back yard. Well today, somewhere in the midst of all that fun he stumbled upon a little misfortune...
He was waiting patiently by the back door to be let inside. I happened to glance down at his foot (before letting him inside, luckily) and I noticed his foot was all bloody. He had torn his toe nail. :(
So, in a little bit of a desperate, "what do I do moment" I called Tim! He had the great idea to take a sock and tape it around his foot! It's in the following moments that I wish I had a video camera... I'm sure you can just about imagine... packing tape, a sock and an overly excited dog!! :) After multiple attempts Wilson now has (errrr, had - I'm sure he's chewed it off by now) a makeshift bandage.

Good news is, Wilson is doing fine. And we have an appt. with the Vet to get his nails clipped next week. :)

Project Style!

I am super excited about an opportunity that came my way recently! This Saturday I will be a "style coach" for Project Style!
Project Style is a non-profit organization that helps young women go to prom that otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it. Over 500 new and gently used dresses have been donated for this great cause!
As a "style coach" I will not only help them find the perfect dress, but be a positive role model for them, encourage, and give them self-confidence.
I am so, so, so excited to be able to take part in something that will give these young women an experience they might not otherwise have.
I'll be sure to follow up and let you know more about the event and how it goes! :)
